Firing with a new driver and irons, Adam Scott has thrust himself into early contention for a drought-breaking PGA Tour triumph in Japan.

Australia's former world No.1 carded a first-round three-under-par 68 to trail the trio of clubhouse leaders by just a shot at the Baycurrent Classic in Yokohama.
