Scott McTominay ruled out of Napoli’s clash with Arsenal after heart procedure

  • Napoli and Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay has successfully undergone corrective surgery in Manchester for a minor heart condition.
  • The 29-year-old was diagnosed with a mild benign arrhythmia, an irregular heart rhythm that poses no significant threat to his health.
  • Following the successful ablation procedure, McTominay will rest for two weeks before resuming training with the Italian club.
  • He will miss Napoli’s Champions League clash against Arsenal on Wednesday, as well as upcoming Nations League fixtures at the start of Sebastien Pocognoli’s tenure as Scotland manager.
  • McTominay is expected to be available again after the international break, potentially returning for Napoli’s fixture against Frosinone on 10 October.
