Scott Brown is eyeing the vacant managerial role at Raith Rovers after John McGlynn left the role earlier this week.
McGlynn guided Rovers to a fifth place finish in the Scottish Championship, missing out on the play-offs by two points.
But has now joined League One side Falkirk on a two year deal.
The departing boss insisted there is plenty of potential at Stark’s Park, stating: “We leave the club in a far better place than when we arrived, there is a good squad of players and with additions this summer, they can be a great team.”
And now Brown, who has been without a club since leaving his player-coach role at Aberdeen in March after Stephen Glass was sacked, is seeking a return as he eyes his first managerial position.
The Scotsman report that Brown has thrown his name into the hat to take charge at the Kirkcaldy club.
The interest comes as the former Celtic captain was linked with the vacant Fleetwood Town job earlier this week.
He has been training with Dunfermline as he looks to keep up his fitness but it remains to be seen if his playing boots would be hung up for good should he be offered the role at Starks Park.
He was also spotted was spotted in the Pars dugout during their 0-0 draw with Queen’s Park in the Championship play-off semi-final first leg at Firhill on Wednesday night.
