Rangers' decision to let Scott Arfield leave on a free has been branded a mistake.
That's the verdict of Celtic hero Frank McAvennie, who admits he was a fan of the midfielder and reckons he could potentially end up in America for the remainder of his career.
Michael Beale admitted the decision to let the veteran depart the club was one that pulled at the heartstrings but in the end both the player and club came to the best decision for both parties. BBC pundit Neil McCann tipped him as a 'super signing' for Scottish Premiership rivals Hearts or Aberdeen this summer but Macca reckons he would do well in the USA and make decent money.

He told Football Insider: “I liked Scott Arfield and I think letting him go is a mistake.
“I liked him and I thought he was a good player. I do not know where he is going to go from here, maybe America.
"He could finish his career off there. I think he would do well over there and make decent money.“
On the big call behind Arfield being one of the five players not to have contracts renewed for the upcoming campaign, Beale said: "Scotty Arfield, it pulled on the hearts strings big time.
"As a man and person, he's been absolutely fantastic around the place. He's adored by the fans as well, not only his teammates and the staff.
"That was a real amicable conversation between the two of us over the last couple of months.
"It was on ongoing conversation around playing time and players coming in. How the squad will look and what Scott needs as well moving forward.
"A difficult decision to come to that one, but I think it's right for all parties."
