Scott Arfield has thanked Rangers fans for their messages after the club confirmed yesterday that the midfielder will leave the Light Blues at the expiration of his contract at the end of the month.
The Canadian international is one of five players who will depart the Govan side, alongside Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos, Filip Helander and veteran goalkeeper Allan McGregor.
Arfield was brought to the club by Steven Gerrard in 2018, after agreeing to join the Gers following his release from Burnley in the Premier League. Over the next five years he would go onto make 231 appearances scoring 43 goals, including 12 strikes in his debut season.

He made 45 appearances in the 2020/21 campaign as Rangers lifted the Premiership title to stop Old Firm rivals Celtic in their quest for 10 in a row, and appeared as a substitute in last season's Europa League final where the Light Blues lost out to Eintracht Frankfurt on penalties.
Arfield bagged two injury time goals at Pittodrie back in December to seal a dramatic 3-2 win for his side against Aberdeen, but has found regular game time hard to come by under boss Michael Beale at Ibrox.
Following the news yesterday, the former Falkirk youth player took to Instagram to thank supporters for their kind words. He said: "Thank you for all the messages and love after the news yesterday team. Extremely flattered and it's very much appreciated."
Manager Beale and his recruitment team are planning a major overhaul of the Rangers squad in the summer to try and bounce back from a season that they will finish trophyless.
England international goalkeeper Jack Butland has been heavily linked with a move to Govan, while Los Angeles FC midfielder Jose Cifuentes is also a reported target.
