A Scots woman stabbed her boyfriend in the leg with a knife while a horrified pal watched on FaceTime.
Lesley-Anne O’Connor stuck the blade into her “on-off” partner Daniel Vallance during an argument at her Edinburgh home.
The attack took place while Daniel’s childhood friend Emma was talking to the couple over the video app.
She watched the pair screaming and shouting at each other before O’Connor lunged at Daniel with the kitchen knife.
O’Connor, 33, appeared at the city’s sheriff court on Tuesday and pled guilty to a charge of assault to injury.
Fiscal depute Callum Thomson said the accused and Daniel had been in an “on-off” relationship for around three years and they lived separately.
Mr Thomson said it was about 6.30pm on December 1 last year when O’Connor returned with Daniel to her home in the city’s Old Town area.
The prosecutor said Daniel went on FaceTime with Emma and the couple both spoke to her during a “casual and light-hearted conversation”.
The court heard an argument had broken out between the pair for “unclear” reasons by the time Emma called back on FaceTime at around 7.20pm.
Mr Thomson said O’Connor had punched Daniel in the face and he appeared on camera with blood on him.
He added: “(Emma) observed the accused and (Daniel) screaming and shouting at each other.
“(Daniel) grabbed the accused and told her to “stop it”.
“The accused was then observed lunging at (Daniel) with a kitchen knife and stabbed him on the leg.”
The court was told Daniel managed to “kick the accused off him” and fled outside where he hailed a taxi.
Mr Thomson said Daniel’s mum phoned O’Connor who told her: “I just stabbed him but he kicked me. I punched him in the mouth and I think I’ve broken his tooth.
“He’s on his way over to you. I think he’s walking.”
O’Connor was arrested by cops who came to her home at 8pm, Mr Thomson added, and the knife was recovered.
He said Daniel suffered two lacerations, one to his right calf and the other to his right thigh.
Sheriff Nigel Ross deferred sentence on O’Connor until next month for reports.
