Scots woman who went missing overnight in 'completely out of character' disappearance found safe and well

A young woman who went missing overnight from a Dunfermline village, with cops dubbing her disappearance 'completely out of character', has been found safe and well.

Sarah Jane Scullion was last seen in Touch at around 11.30pm on Wednesday September 21. The 26-year-old failed to make contact with loved ones, and worries were mounting for her welfare.

As a result, Police Scotland were asking for the public's help as part of their ongoing efforts to trace the young woman. Anyone who had any insight as to where Sarah Jane might have been was urged to come forward.

Now, officers have confirmed that Sarah Jane has been traced. They thanked members of the public for their assistance with the extensive search, which has now been stood down.

A spokesperson for the force added: "Thank you very much for sharing our appeal to trace Sarah Jane Scullion who had been reported missing.

"She has been found safe and well. Thank you again."
