A teen thug spat blood at police officers after threatening to stab a man and woman in the middle of the night.
Lee Ness had called at the woman’s East Lothian home at 3.30am looking for her daughter before lobbing sick threats.
The 19-year-old told Kirsty Stewart and Michael Lawrie, who also lived at the Musselburgh address: “You’re getting stabbed to f***”.
When police arrived to arrest Ness, he spat in one officer’s face, attempted to headbutt another, and spat blood at the constables.
Ness appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday and pled guilty to threatening or abusive behaviour and two charges of assault.
Fiscal depute Anna Chisholm said Kirsty and Michael heard banging at their front door and went to find Ness was there.
Ms Chisholm said Ness asked for Kirsty’s daughter, who wasn’t in the property, but refused to say who he was.
The court heard Ness began making threats, telling them: “I’m going to f*****g stab you.”
After the victims returned inside, Ness kicked their front door for “several minutes”, Ms Chisholm added.
Ness became aggressive towards officers called to the scene who were putting him in a police van.
The court heard he spat in the face of Pc Alan Clark, attempted to kick and punch him and spat blood at him.
Ms Chisholm said Ness attempted to headbutt Pc Daniel Carruthers, tried to punch and kick him, and also spat blood at him.
She said it was 5.20am when Ness was finally taken to St Leonards police station in Edinburgh following the incident on June 6 last year.
Defence agent Mark Harrower said his client, of Ormiston, East Lothian, accepted the matter was “serious”.
Sheriff Kenneth Campbell QC deferred sentence until next month for reports.
