Scottish singer Lulu has been voted off ITV talent show competition the Masked Singer after she was unmasked as Piece of Cake. The 74-year-old became the second person to be voted off the show on Saturday night.
Viewers were left speechless as the star was revealed following a tense episode as six incognito celebrities took to the stage. Jacket Potato took on Fawn, while Rubbish went up against Pigeon, and the now axed Piece of Cake took on Rhino.
The Eurovision star was revealed when the studio audience and judging panel chanted ‘Take it off, Take it off’ as she failed to win over the studio audience while performing Ed Sheeran's hit single Shivers.
Judges Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and Davina McCall all returned to the panel on New Year's Day, with comedian Joel Dommett on hosting duties, the Mirror reports.
They were left gobsmacked at the reveal and Rita shouted "OMG, I love you, Lulu."
The wild ITV reality show is now back for 2023, with 13 original contestants, including the first ever duo on the programme in Cat and Mouse.
In the opening episode, Chris Kamara was unveiled as the first Masked Singer, less than a year after revealing he was suffering from a speech disorder.
The football pundit has since shared the sweet moment his family watched the show as he was revealed to be Ghost.
Taking to Twitter, he simply wrote: “Magical moments,” alongside a clip of Chris and his two grandchildren watching the show.
Asked why he did the show after he was unmasked, Chris said he had signed up for his grandchildren.
He said: “I want to see the surprise on their faces when they see me unmasked on the show.
“Not even my wife knows so it’s going to be a surprise for the whole family.
“I’m not the best at keeping secrets so I’m not sure what will shock them most, taking part in the show or keeping it a secret.”
