Scots rescue dog's photoshoot has admirers comparing him to Rose from Titanic

A rescue dog's glamorous photoshoot on the Orkney Islands has taken the internet by storm, gathering admirers around the world.

Golden Labrador Ralphy was out strutting in the northern Scottish Isles when his owners captured the adorable pictures in a three minute window between rain storms.

Captioned "Golden hour last night with Ralph on the Orkney Islands," the snaps show the pooch posing "majestically" in front of a rainbow and black skies.

While he was clearly having a good time, life hasn't always been easy for Ralphy.

Originally from Greece, the rescue dog previously spent his time chained up in his former owner's garden before he was taken in by the Arc Animal Sanctuary on the Greek Isle of Lefkada.

Now, Ralphy spends his days frolicking in the brisk Scottish seas, taking long walks and enjoying sunshine and rainbows. But coming from such a warm climate, he has had to grapple with the chillier Scottish temperatures.

His owner told the Daily Record: "Ralphy has retired to Orkney from Greece after a tough start. In Orkney he loves walks on the beach and standing in the sea and staring out, but he doesn't go in beyond his elbows as he finds it too cold!"

Admirers have called Ralphy "majestic" (Supplied)

"He had a bit of a shock the first time he ran into the water. Bless him.

"Despite finding it a little difficult to settle, he's found his feet and has a best friend in Clyde, a local flat-coated retriever."

After posting the photos on social media site Reddit, fans quickly flocked to compliment photogenic Ralphy.

One fan compared the photos to a box office hit. They wrote: "Titanic soundtrack playing in the background. Beautiful doggo," while another said: "Now that is absolutely majestic."

"Ralph's ears look like they’re getting ready for take-off, adorable," wrote another.

While many praised his good looks, most were just happy to see Ralphy thriving, with one touched fan remarking: "Feel like that dog's living a great life."
