BBC Breakfast presenter Carol Kirkwood has weighed in on her relationship with co-star Naga Munchetty after viewers picked up on 'tension' between the pair.
Scots broadcaster Carol shrugged off claims of a rift with her BBC co-star and says their on-screen exchanges are just banter.
However, eagle-eyed viewers noticed two separate occasions where Naga appeared to take aim at Carol's age and called her “really stern” in a spat over the Christmas Day forecast.
Viewers noticed after Naga appeared to hit out at her co-star after an embarrassing name blunder live on air. The weather presenter handed her report back to Naga but she accidentally mispronounced her name.
Wrapping up her report, Carol said: “The winds will be lighter, just a few showers coming in from the north-west and temperatures ranging from nine to 13 degrees, Nana.”
Correcting her mistake, she immediately apologised to her co-star and said: “Naga, sorry, we’ve got a producer called Nana.”
“You say that every single time,” Naga jibed back, adding: “And I come and visit you and have a cup of tea.
However, Carol has hit back and rubbished claims of a feud between the two. “I love Naga and we just have banter," she said to The Sun.
"I love the camaraderie between us and everyone. It’s a good, fun job.”
Carol also shared an embarrassing on-air blunder that left her red faced. She accidentally said she had seen "lots of doggers" in a London park live on air - when she meant to say dogs and runners.
