A pensioner has died following a horror flat fire in West Dunbartonshire.
Emergency services including Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Police Scotland raced to Round Riding Road, Dumbarton after the alarm was raised shortly after 7.30pm on Thursday, June 2.
A 72-year-old man was rushed to hospital, but sadly died a short time later.
Cops have since launched an investigation into the incident to find out the exact cause of the fire.
There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the event.
A police spokesperson added: "A report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal."
The fire service has been contacted for comment.
