Scots pensioner, 93, fulfils wish of flying small plane again on 'thrilling' day out

A 93-year-old pensioner fulfilled her wish of piloting a small plane again with a 'thrilling' flight over Scotland.

Betty Buckland, a resident at Care UK’s Lauder Lodge in Edinburgh, took to the skies in a Cessna aircraft at speeds of 150mph. Soaring 2,000 feet above sea level, a beaming Ms Buckland said the experience "brought back so many happy memories".

“It was a wonderful day and we had an amazing view of the Kelpies at Falkirk,” she said. “Being in a small plane again was thrilling and brought back so many happy memories.”
