Scots island offers Glaswegians 'dream job' £60k salary, golden beaches and dolphin spotting

A stunning island off of Scotland's dramatic west coast is looking for someone to join the community for a key role and an exciting new life.

The dream opportunity for someone looking to escape city life in Glasgow is currently being advertised with the location on the stunning Isle of Eigg.

This beautiful location offers rugged scenery and breathtaking beaches and is the perfect location for someone to live in a close-knit and remote community, reports the Daily Record.

The move may be in the offing for one lucky teacher from Glasgow as the tiny island primary school is on the hunt for a new headteacher.

The role would see the lucky candidate move to the five mile long and three-mile wide island, home to just 110 people in total. Situated in the Inner Hebrides, the tiny island sits just 10 miles south of Skye alongside Muck, Rum and Canna.

The island's primary school has just seven pupils currently, but there are soon to be another five little ones joining the nursery.

And the role comes with plenty of perks, with the island home to some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland including crystal clear waters and golden sand beaches.

The role will be shared with Muck Primary School - which also has just seven students currently enrolled.

The tiny school says it provides pupils "with a stimulating learning environment" using the "rich learning environment the island provides."

In a post about the school, the Highland Council website says: "The school has a supportive ethos that encourages achievement and celebrates success, encouraging children to become independent and confident."

If this sounds like the job for you then you best be quick, the closing date is set for May 29. Applicants should be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland.
