A leading Scottish home builder is seeking to offer a helping hand to local community groups after launching a new funding scheme.
Miller Homes will donate £10,000 to charities, community groups and causes linked to its developments in the West of Scotland, including Newton Fields in Cambuslang, over the next year.
The leading homebuilder has announced the creation of a Community Fund allowing groups to apply for funding to support their projects and say that they want to support their neighbours across the Cambuslang area, from local sports teams looking for sponsorship to nurseries looking to equip their garden and food banks in need of additional supplies.
The fund officially launched this Wednesday, September 28 and applications for this first round will close on November 11, and the homebuilder say they are keen to hear from local groups.
Donations between a minimum of £250 and a maximum of £2000 will then be awarded to the successful applicants. Two funding rounds will take place each year in June and November, and applications will be accepted throughout the year.
Louise Caldwell, sales director for the firm, told Lanarkshire Live : "Community is a core value at Miller Homes.
"We put passion into building quality homes, creating new neighbourhoods and take pride in supporting residents to make Cambuslang a better place to live.
"We’re fortunate to have many inspiring groups across Cambuslang doing everything they can to improve their community. From supporting vulnerable members of society to enhancing the green spaces for families to enjoy, our Community Fund will help as many of these projects as we can.
"We’re encouraging organisations of all shapes and sizes to reach out and tell us what we can do to support their mission."
Each of Miller Homes’ ten regional offices across the UK will have its own £10,000 fund, which combined will contribute £100,000 to community initiatives across the country every year.
