A Scots family have been left shaken after being racially abused by a group of yobs while they were trying to enjoy a day at the beach.
The family had been taking their dog out to Silverknowes Beach in Edinburgh late on the afternoon of Saturday, March 5.
There, they were allegedly 'verbally and physically abused' as they walked down to the beach.
A shocking video, seen by Edinburgh Live, shows a group of around 15 shouting various racist slurs at them
One individual also shouts "f*** off you p*** b******" before lobbing a plastic bollard directly at the family.
The distressed family wish to remain anonymous for safety reasons..
They told Edinburgh Live: "Today at 4.30pm my parents were walking our dog down to Silverknowes beach and were verbally and physically attacked by this group of teenagers.
"More than 20 of them, girls and boys, were vandalising the road bollards.
"The boys then started to call my parents ‘P***’ and ‘refugees’ and threw the bollards from the road at them and at my dog.
"Five boys circled my dad then threw the bollard at my dad’s head and kicked my dad before he even had time to react.
"I am absolutely disgusted and furious at this.
"We’ve lived in Silverknowes for over 10 years and never experienced something like this in our community.
"My parents were stunned, shocked and saddened and disgusted."
Local residents were in dismay at the shocking behaviour the family have endured
