Cops are on red alert for the most feared football hooligans in Europe when Rangers host Red Star Belgrade next month.
The authorities here have less than a fortnight to prepare for the Serb Ultras, notorious for launching fireworks in stadiums, rampant racism and full-on fighting.
Police chiefs last night said they will be approaching cops in Serbia for information on those who may try to cause disorder in Glasgow.
They added: "Our planning is under way.
"We’re aware of the significance of the match and a proportionate policing plan will be put in place."
Before the match on March 10, Red Star take on city rivals Partizan tomorrow night – a fixture in which 50 people were injured after thugs hurled stones last November.
