Police officer Robert Collie has become the force’s favourite PC Bod – despite scoffing turkey mince and rice for seven months. The 32-year-old bodybuilder wolfed down the high-protein meal four times a day in training before winning the Natural Physique Association’s middleweight title.
The dedicated constable dragged himself out of bed at 4.30am for two-hour training sessions each morning before starting his cop shift in Moray. And he was so determined to stick to a healthy-eating regime he resisted tucking into pizza while on holiday.
Robert broke down in tears when judges revealed he was named Britain’s best in his class earlier this month . The officer, who has been on the force for 13 years, said: “Winning a title, and the British title in particular, was something I had dreamed of.
“I came into this at a later age, 25, and was almost too late to the party. There are a lot of guys coming into this in their teens. The reaction when I got that British title was just incredible.
“I’m not a particularly emotional guy – after a decade in the police, I’ve become quite hardened to things – but when they called my name, I broke down on stage. I couldn’t hold back the emotion.

“All the years of sacrifice, having to prioritise training and dieting over family and friends’ events – and everything that entails – just hit me at once. It was an incredible feeling.
“I liked to keep things simple. I ate the same meal five times a day for seven months and it needed to be something I could eat cold and carry with me.
“Every morning I had pre-made porridge oats and protein, then turkey mince with rice for the remaining four meals.”
Robert said his police colleagues have given fantastic support. He added: “They’ve been brilliant and go above and beyond to cover to allow me to compete.”
