A Glasgow rail worker has wowed crowds of music fans on a station platform after belting out a 'phenomenal' rendition of one of the bands biggest hits. ScotRail worker Gerry entertained fans at Mount Florida train station by singing chart hit Yellow after the band's Hampden concert on Tuesday night.
Wearing his hi-vis vest he was handed a phone to help with the lyrics as he sang the musical hit. Gerry preformed to a packed platform as fans waited to travel home after the gig.
Glasgow Live reports that video footage of the sing-song was shared on social media and sparked a wave of praise from Twitter users - with one even suggesting 'Gerry' get a salary increase.
One wrote: "The people of Glasgow are great, I remember we were lost after The Stone Roses at Hampden. Everyone was very friendly and very helpful." Another added: "Good on him."
A third commented: "What a legend. Give that man a pay rise." Another posted: "Fabulous. People Make Glasgow."
And another wrote: "What makes Glasgow special? This does… phenomenal." And some were familiar with the music man himself.
One wrote: "Gerry is a lovely guy and super helpful always." Another commented: "Aw I love Gerry. He always made my day when he was working.
"Great guy. An absolute credit to ScotRail." ScotRail were quick to praise the crooner for his efforts.
A spokesperson said: "Love this. Our Gerry giving Coldplay fans a wee tune on the way home from the concert last night." Coldplay's second and final Glasgow gig takes place on Wednesday, August 24.
