THE minute's applause to honour the Queen received a mixed response at Hampden tonight.
Scotland and Ukraine players stood around the centre circle for a minute's applause after the Queen passed away last week.
The Queen's funeral was held on Monday ending a period of mourning across the UK following her death.
The Scottish National Team had confirmed the act of tribute would be held before the Nations League match on Wednesday.
However, the minute's applause before kick-off was met with a mixed reaction.
TV broadcasts of the match picked up some boos as the minute's applause began, but the majority inside Hampden appeared to join the minute's applause.
The minute's applause followed booming renditions of the Scottish and Ukranian national anthems ahead of kick-off.
A Scotland National team update earlier this week confirmed:: "Following discussions with UEFA, we can confirm that there will be a minute's applause ahead of our match against Ukraine, in memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II."
Scotland boss Steve Clarke had commented: “I think for me, I will do my usual and show the respect that should be shown on such an occasion.
“For other people? I don’t think it’s for me to judge, but hopefully it goes off, and it is a respectful moment before the game.
“I am always very respectful on these occasions and give the respect that’s deserved.”
The mixed response comes after tributes to the Queen were disrupted by booing, chants and banners during this weekend's Scottish Premiership fixtures.
A section of Dundee United supporters chanted "Lizzie's in a box" and booed a minute's silence at Ibrox on Saturday.
And Celtic supporters hoisted a banner which read "If you hate the Royal Family, clap your hands" and chanted the same words during minute's applause ahead of their match with St Mirren on Sunday.
