Scotland and Ukraine will both be looking to take a step closer to Qatar when they meet at Hampden Park tonight in a World Cup play-off semi-final.
The match was originally scheduled to take place in March but was postponed after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. A group of 21 home-based Ukraine players have been training together since the start of May in Slovenia, before playing a number of friendlies against European club sides.
For Scotland, it’s nine years since they last lost a World Cup qualifier on home soil and Steve Clarke’s will have huge support behind them once again.
The winner of the semi-final goes through to play Wales in Cardiff on Sunday, where a place in Group B at the World Cup is on offer. England, Iran and the USA will be the opponents in Qatar.
