Scotland vs Hungary halted by medical emergency as Varga stretchered off

Scotland's match against Hungary was halted after a nasty head collision.

Hungary striker Barnabas Varga required urgent medical treatment after a sickening head knock in the box.

Medics were shouted onto the pitch with fears the striker was knocked unconscious.

Hungary players quickly formed a human shield around the player as he received treatment before screens were held up around Varga.

After a lengthy stoppage, of around seven minutes, the player was stretched off the pitch for further treatment.

A warm round of applause from all corners of the stadium could be heard as Varga was taken off the pitch following the horrible incident.

Thankfully, it's now understood Varga is in a stable condition after the frightening collision.

Gabby Logan announced on BBC coverage that confirmation from Hungary officials has been received that the player is conscious, the presenter said: "Barnabas Varga is in a stable condition and he is conscious."
