Scotland superstar Finn Russell delivered a personalised video message which helped inspire Paisley Rugby Club to a long-awaited first victory of the season.
Having lost their opening seven West League Division Two matches, the Anchor side were in need of a boost heading into their clash with Clydebank as they looked to taste victory once again.
Ahead of kick-off, Racing 92 playmaker Russell sent a message to the group recorded at BT Murrayfield, ahead of Scotland’s massive game against New Zealand.
In the clip, shared on Paisley Rugby Club’s Facebook page, he said: “It’s Finn Russell here. I just want to wish you all the best today Paisley in your game against Clydebank. I hope you win!”
The message certainly appeared to do the trick. In a hard-fought contest the Renfrewshire side edged to victory thanks to Ian Loach’s impressive try.
A penalty from Euan Stuart saw them win by a solitary point, sparking huge celebrations at full-time as Paisley picked up that elusive first win of the campaign.
The victory lifted the club off the bottom of the table, with the side leapfrogging Irvine into ninth place.
Without a fixture this weekend, Paisley will return to action hoping to make it two wins from two when they welcome Glasgow University Medics to the Anchor on Saturday, November 26.

With the game switched to Holmpark due to Birkmyre’s pitch being deemed unplayable, the visitors ran away with a 21-5 victory.
