Craig Tara is set for a major multi-million pound expansion which would see an extra 150 caravans brought to the site.
The popular Ayrshire holiday park - Scotland's biggest - has launched ambitious plans which would see space created for thousands more visitors each year.
Bosses have identified the nine-hole golf course at the site outside Ayr as a plot to house brand new holiday homes.
The fairways on the western side of the Haven Holiday Park has been earmarked for the development, which will see 150 new caravan pitches along with open space, access, landscaping and other associated works.
A senior source familiar with the plans has told Ayrshire Live that the revedelopment would cost up to £10million and will create up to 100 jobs once fully operational.
It comes amidst the opening of a new restaurant 'Slim Chickens' which bosses hope will be operating before the peak summer season.
Ayrshire Live has seen sight of the pre-planning application which details the ambitious proposals ahead of a full planning application that will be submitted to South Ayrshire Council next month.
The pre-planning application reads: "The proposal comprises the redevelopment of the golf facility at the western side of Craig Tara Holiday Park for up to 150 new caravan pitches along with open space, access, landscaping and other associated works.
"Road access to the site will be provided at two points along the eastern boundary, providing links into the existing developed areas of the holiday park. No new road access is proposed onto Dunure Road.
"The tree cover along the boundaries of the site will be retained, with the majority of the woodland areas within the site also retained.
"A new footbridge is proposed to connect the northern and central areas of the site, across the Carwinshoch Burn. The existing footbridge across the burn from the holiday park to the site will also be upgraded."
Park chiefs have responded to early concerns raised by local residents.
Issues included traffic management and worries over the expansion bordering onto the nearby Heads of Ayr Farm Park.
In a public consultation park chiefs said they will sit down with neighbouring residents to discuss any worries.
Park chiefs also said they will consult SEPA, Police Scotland and Ayrshire Roads Alliance as part of their planning application.
It is hoped that if approved, the additional caravans could be ready by Summer 2024.
