Scotland cities can boast about having the most affordable housing prices in the United Kingdom according to new data.
Consumer advisors GetAgent have compiled data regarding the cheapest and most expensive in Britain to help those looking to get on the property ladder.
Four of the top five most reasonable priced houses were based in Scotland, with Glasgow, Renfrewshire and Ayrshire represented. Bradford was England's sole representative in fifth position in the list, which makes grim reading for the rest of the UK.
London was excluded from all the rankings but the consumer advise servicer did compile the same lists for the English capital so that it can be comparable.
The top five most affordable postcodes all came under an asking price of £82,000 in 2022 before there was a marked jump up to £92,844 for Grimsby, in sixth place.
Greenock in Renfrewshire was crowned as the cheapest area to buy a property in Britain, with an average house price of £64,699. In second place was Newmilns, East Ayrshire at £69,049 and Easterhouse in Glasgow rounding off the top third with a price of £74,130.
Kilbirnie in North Ayrshire concluded the Scottish stranglehold at the top of the pile in fourth spot with an average house costing £78,110 and Bradford city centre (£81,610) completed the top five.
Grimsby were followed by Middlehaven in Middlesbrough, which cost on average £94,291 for the seventh most affordable area. Shildon in County Durham were next before Wales' only representative in the top 10 saw Rhondda Cynon Taf sneak in at ninth.
Middlesbrough made another appearance to finish the top 10 with Thorntree's average house price of £96,777.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, Virginia Water in Runnymede was the most expensive postcode to live in 2022 as the value came at a hefty £3,278,055. Isle of Mull, Argyllshire (£2,697,500) came in second spot followed by Much Hadham in East Hertfordshire which cost up to £2,689,229.
Bourne End and Isle of Islay wrapped up the top five, while Weybridge, North Middleton, Beaconsfield, Badminton and Windlesham made the top 10, with a value of at least £1,450,000.
In London, the most expensive area was Grosvenor Square which would cost a staggering £7,053,452. Hanover Square was in second spot at £6,442,911 and Belgravia (£6,056,584) completed the top three.
Piccadilly and Whithall were in fourth and fifth respectively with both surpassing the £6million mark, while the top 10 were all valued over £4m.
In contrast, Erith Marshes in Bexley proved to be the most affordable in the capital with an average house price valued at £251,079.
Thurrock occupied the next three positions with West Thurrock (£265,912), Purfleet (£266,285) and Tilbury (£297,699) coming under the £300k mark; Thamesmead in Greenwich was fifth at a cost of £309,909.
