Scotland defeated Fiji at the Netball World Cup in Cape Town to guarantee a top-10 finish in the tournament for the first time over 30 years.
Scotland, ranked tenth in the world, were favourites to defeat the Pacific Islanders, who are ranked four placed below the Scots at 14th in the world.
However, the first half was a tight affair, with Scotland reaching half-time only three goals ahead at 29-26.
From there, however, Tamsin Greenway’s side found their form and ran out comfortable 62-46 winners in their penultimate match of the tournament with Niamh McCall being named player of the match for the second time this week.
“Fiji were a targeted team for us so we wanted to beat them,” said Greenway.
“It was closer at half time than we would have liked but at half-time is where the real impact was felt in terms of the tactical information we wanted the players to take on.”
The Scots will face Wales in the 9th/10th place play-off tomorrow.
