Scores of new skilled tech jobs are being created by a Chicago company which has launched a new base in Newcastle city centre.
Thoughtworks announced its plans to open a North East base in the summer of 2021, saying it would create an 100 skilled jobs. Now it is set to create an additional 80 roles on the back of expansion into the new offices, chosen as they are big enough to accommodate growing employee numbers. Jobs at the new office, which is in Lloyd’s Court on Grey Street, range from senior to junior positions, including places on the company’s entry-level program, Thoughtworks University, a year-long program that trains new recruits in technical and consulting skills. Thoughtworks also has a recruitment scheme aimed at people from all backgrounds.
