Scoop: Epstein files include "hung like a horse" message to Clinton email

Jeffrey Epstein co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell once sent a message to an email address associated with former President Clinton that complimented the size of the recipient's genitals, according to a Trump administration official familiar with the email released in the latest batch of Epstein files.

  • It's unclear whether Maxwell was writing to Clinton or an aide who used the ex-president's account, and whose name was redacted. Clinton for years has denied using email, and repeatedly was referenced in the third person in emails sent from the account.

Why it matters: But the years-long email correspondence in the government's Epstein files sheds more light on the close relationship the late sex offender and his right-hand woman had with elite political and global figures such as Clinton, and those in their orbit.

  • Included in Friday's Epstein files dump is an email from Maxwell — dated "Sat, 01 Jan 4501," with the recipient name fully redacted in the public files.
  • But the recipient was an email address with the initials "WJC" that is associated with Clinton, according to the person familiar with the unredacted documents.
  • "Sorry to hear that the Belzburg stuff is bad … I could not help myself — there was one juicy little tit bit I did let out — The one about what a supper stud you are and how I have a crush on you and how you are hung like a horse and — well you get the picture. Hope you don't mind," Maxwell wrote.

Between the lines: Clinton — like President Trump, who socialized frequently with Epstein in the 1990s and early 2000s — has denied any wrongdoing. A Clinton spokesperson declined to comment on the emails released Friday.

  • Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have called for the release of all the Epstein files.
  • The Clintons have defied subpoenas from the Republican-led House Oversight panel, which is investigating the Epstein case. The panel voted last week to hold them in contempt of Congress.

Flashback: Maxwell's email does not explicitly explain what she meant by the "Belzburg stuff," but back in 2002 there was a string of tabloid stories about Clinton's association with New York socialite Lisa Belzberg.

  • The controversy stemmed from a Newsweek photo that showed the two "in an intimate pose" in her kitchen, according to an April 12, 2002, report from the Scotsman.

The intrigue: The Belzberg reference is notable because it reinforces the close ties between Clinton, Maxwell and Epstein.

  • Belzberg was also "a business associate of Prince Andrew," the Scotsman reported.
  • Prince Andrew, a close friend of Maxwell's and Epstein's, settled a lawsuit filed against him in 2022 by Virginia Giuffre, who had accused him and Epstein of sexually abusing her when she was underage.

The prince denied the charges, but he couldn't explain a viral 2001 photograph of him with his hand around the then 17-year-old girl's waist.

The fine print: The phrase "hung like a horse" appears in email correspondence associated with at least two other men —Woody Allen and former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine.

  • In Allen's case, Epstein corresponded on Oct. 30, 2018, with a person using the filmmaker's email account who noted Allen's preference for white underwear instead of black underwear that Epstein bought as a gift.
  • "How do I go about exchanging the two for something useful- his actual size and color? The thought of that you could send size small underwear shorts to a guy who's hung like a horse is laughable," the person corresponding from Allen's account wrote.

Epstein replied with a joke: "I thought you said like a dachshund."

  • In Levine's case, Maxwell appeared to correspond with his email account on Oct. 4, 2001, and mentioned she had told another person "that you were hung like a horse and she sd [sic] that she would like to see."
  • Levine's account responded: "tell her that the rumor is that I am hung like a horse...not a rumor!!!"
