Scissor Sister mum Kathleen Mulhall returned to Ireland to visit her killer daughter after several years apart, we can reveal.
Dublin Live has learned that Kathleen, who lives in the UK, paid a visit to Charlotte Mulhall in Limerick Prison last month. Sources say the pair have kept regular contact over the past year via video call as the mum seeks to repair her relationship with her daughters.
But the in-person visit comes after years of the pair not seeing one another – and also comes as sources say Charlotte is moving ever closer to full freedom from prison, after serving over 15 years for the murder of Kathleen’s then boyfriend Farah Swaleh Noor in 2005. A source said: “Charlotte has been getting regular days out lately and has been keeping of good behaviour in Limerick.

“She’s served a long time in there now and so she’s being given more chances to prove herself and ultimately get more time out of prison in the near future.” Kathleen’s visit with Charlotte marks an unusual departure from their distant relationship over the past number of years – with her residing in London and the pair only speaking over the phone.
Speaking in 2018, Kathleen was scathing in her remarks about her other daughter Linda, who she claimed doesn’t speak to her. She said: “I only talk with Charlotte. She is my life. She is my only child and Andrew is my only son.
“I have only two children in this world." Her remarks came as Linda, 44, was released from prison in January 2018 – after serving 13 years for her part in Noor’s killing.
Sources say it is now likely that Charlotte Mulhall could be granted a further lengthier releases from prison by the end of the year – or next year, if she continues to engage with the services provided to her. If she is to walk free this year, she will have served 16 years for the notorious killing of her mother’s partner, in which she was assisted by her sister Linda.
Though she could soon enjoy complete freedom – Charlotte’s status as a “life” prisoner will never change – and should she ever get into trouble on the outside – she could be immediately returned to prison. Under temporary release the killer would
be required to sign on, and notify authorities of her whereabouts at all times.
Her sister Linda is already free, after being jailed for manslaughter – while Charlotte, who stabbed Noor up to 20 times with a kitchen knife, was convicted of murder. The brutal killing which shocked the nation happened in Kathleen’s apartment at Richmond Cottage, Ballybough in North Dublin. While Charlotte stabbed Noor, Linda struck him with a hammer – with the sisters claiming he had tried to rape one of them.
They then chopped up his remains inside the bathroom of their mother’s apartment. The pair then dumped Noor’s limbs and torso in the Royal Canal before taking his head on the bus to Tallaght in West Dublin, where it was believed to have been hidden in a park before being moved.
Kathleen was jailed in 2009 for impeding the investigation. In a 2018 interview, Kathleen said she wanted to reunite with her newly released daughter, who she said hadn’t spoken to her in years.
She added: “I’m tired. I really am. Sometimes I just think I don’t want to wake up anymore but then when Linda came out of prison it gave me a bit of hope to want to live again, but there was no contact from her,” she said. “She wouldn’t even answer a message that I sent her.”
Kathleen also said she was dying of two serious lung conditions, and she wanted to make amends with Linda before the end. She added: “I have to have a lifesaving operation on my lung, it has a hole in it and it has gotten much bigger. Doctors say I have to get the operation to have half my lung removed and I’ve been on a waiting list for six months.
“I would do anything to hold Linda in my arms. I would give anything. There’s still people [like me] who love Linda, but clearly she doesn’t feel the same and I’m telling you that truthfully.
“She has said in the past that she loves me but now she should prove it. She should prove she loves me, but she’s proven nothing to me.”
