Scissor Sister Charlotte Mulhall settles at Limerick Prison after being 'lonely and sad'

Scissor Sister Charlotte Mulhall has finally settled at Limerick Prison after years of wanting to return to the Dochas Centre.

The killer had been “lonely and sad” after being moved from the Dublin jail on Christmas Eve 2018 but is understood to have finally accepted her surroundings.

The 37-year-old, who is serving life in prison for the brutal killing of her mother’s partner Farah Swaleh Noor in 2005, is spending her time in the prison school learning to sew in home economics.

A source said Mulhall, who has been fighting to be moved back to the Dochas Centre, is now happy in Limerick.

The insider said: “For the first few years Charlotte appeared lonely and didn’t want to be at Limerick Prison.

“However, in recent months she appears to have changed her tune and is now in the jail school and is doing a home economics course.

“She’s learning how to sew and loves it.

“She appears to be just getting on with it now and there hasn’t been a mention of wanting to move back to the Dochas for a while now.”

Mulhall was moved two days after she was allegedly seen in a compromising position with a prison officer.

She disputes that accusation and said she has never been given the opportunity to put her side of the story. Another reason Mulhall is believed to be happy is the fact she is getting more frequent day release to go and see her loved ones.

The source added: “She may very well get out to spend some of Christmas with her family but will only find out shortly after the decision is made in a few weeks time.”

Charlotte’s sister Linda Mulhall is already free, having served 15 years for manslaughter.

However, Charlotte, who stabbed Noor up to 20 times with a kitchen knife, was convicted of murder.

The brutal killing which shocked the nation happened in her mother Kathleen’s apartment at Richmond Cottage, Ballybough in North Dublin.

While Charlotte stabbed Noor, Linda struck him with a hammer after the sisters claimed he had tried to rape one of them.

They then chopped up his remains inside the bathroom of their mother’s apartment.

The sisters then dumped Noor’s limbs and torso in the Royal Canal before taking his head on the bus to Tallaght in West Dublin.

It is believed to have been hidden in a park before being moved.

Kathleen was meanwhile jailed in 2009 for impeding the investigation.
