Scientists have issued a stark warning that Europe is on the verge of a catastrophic drought as groundwater reserves continue to dry up.
According to the experts, during the summer months of 2018 and 2019, there was a major water shortage in Central Europe.
Over the past four or five years, there has been no notable rise in these groundwater levels - meaning they remain at a low level.
