Schoolgirl tells brain surgeon 'if I don't make it, thanks for trying' ahead of life-saving op

A 16-year-old girl wrote a heartbreaking note to her surgeon ahead of an operation to remove a brain tumour.

Beth McKenzie 'thought she was going to die' while undergoing the major operation and told neurosurgeon Roddy O’Kane it 'wasn't his fault' if anything went wrong.

Thankfully, the eight-hour operation was a success and Beth, from Blantyre, is now back to studying ahead of her Higher exams just 10 months on.
