When it comes to naming your child, you have two options - stick with a traditional name, or be bold and go for something that's going to make your little one stand out from the crowd. From simple spelling variations to combining two common names into something brand new, the sky is the limit.
And after seeing countless children with unique names every year, one person who works in the school system has compiled a list online of some of the most bizarre names they have come across. The person split the list into different categories - such as names that were based on royalty or names that included "unnecessary punctuation" - and commenters were left baffled, as many of them "refused to believe" the names were real.

Before posting the lengthy list, the person wrote on Reddit: "I work for a school district so I see tons of names on a daily basis. I've started keeping a list of the most 'interesting' ones and have found that most names fall into one of nine categories. I thought you guys would enjoy some fun examples."
They then listed all the names in nine categories, starting with the royally-themed names, which included the likes of Duchess, King, Docile Princess, Rose-Queen, Princess Kzineah, and King-David.
Next up were the names with "unnecessary punctuation", such as D-Jay, Jo'Ell, Anna-Bell, and Ca'Sandra, followed by the names that would have been common if not for their "creative spelling", including Eathyn, Autymn, MacKennzzy, Leigham, Pariz, and Cyennah.
There were also names in a fourth category titled "almost a name", which seemed to be names derived from two existing monikers smashed together. They included Annalizabeth, Samandriel, Lonica, Alexavier, Xerek, Jerrick, and Trennis.
Names featured in the "religious" group were the likes of Heavenly Fawn Essence, Lazarus, Bethlehem, and Blessing-Your, while another category of nature-related names included bizarre monikers such as Eagle, Beautiful Dancing Snow, Sunchild, Blueberry Rose, Thunder, and Spirit Water.
The final two properly defined categories were place names - which featured Sweden, Britain, and Russia - and "fandoms", where parents had picked names from their favourite TV shows and movies for their kids. These included Khaleesi and Arya who were both named by Game of Thrones fans, as well as Star Wars-inspired names such as Kylo, and twins named Luke and Leia.
And for the ninth category, the person simply collected all the other unique names that didn't fit in any of the other sections. This included a child named after a weapon with the name Pistol, as well as another named Tesla after the car manufacturer.
There were also kids named Phurious, Nitro-Ice, Judas Wang Shadow, Tyranny, Magic, and Starlin.
Commenters on the Reddit post were blown away by the bizarre list of names, and many of them said they simply refused to believe any of them were real.
One person said: "I refuse to believe these are real."
While another added: "No I refuse to believe half of these are real. Lazaniel, Xerek, Heavenly Dawn Essence, Sweden, Nitro-Ice. You have to have made these up. For my sanity, I can't take it if these are real."
And a third posted: "Some of the names I've seen working in a school make me Phurious, too."
