Parents are preparing for the return to school next month as families are embroiled in a cost of living crisis that has pushed prices up with more pressures on household budgets also on the horizon. Food bills, broadband bills, phone bills, petrol costs are all rising - with another increase in the energy price cap due to be announced on Friday.
So many mums, dads and carers will be looking very carefully at the cost of school uniform items. Consumer champion Which? has said the cost of the average compulsory school uniform can be as high as £100.
Reena Sewraz, Which? Money Expert, said: “School uniforms are a significant expense – especially if you have more than one child – and with household budgets being squeezed due to the cost of living crisis, many parents will be looking for ways to cut the cost.
