School students told they must bring dark blazers in heatwave despite soaring temperatures

Students at a school have been told to bring their dark blazers despite the impending heatwave and in spite of temperatures hitting 25C. Outwood Academy in Brumby, North Lincolnshire, has insisted that its students wear the dark jackets of its uniform regardless of the hot weather.

One student said that she felt "suffocated...You feel trapped in it as well, because they don't really let you take it off unless the head teacher decides." BBC Look North said that they had received a statement from the principal of the school stating that during period of warmer weather, students would no longer have to wear their blazers when moving around the school.

However, they do still have to bring them to school. The school claimed in the statement that students who do not bring their blazers would not be punished, Hull Live reports.
