Students in parts of India will get a school holiday on September 23, 2026, as state-specific calendars mark regional and commemorative occasions. The closures will not apply nationwide, with the holiday determined by the respective state schedules and, where applicable, individual institutions.
Jharkhand has included September 23 as part of a two-day school break for Karma Puja, while Haryana schools will remain closed on the same day for War Heroes’ Martyrdom Day.
