Eighty GCSE students have been banned from attending their end-of-school Prom because they failed to meet "certain standards".
Winsford Academy contacted the parents of pupils who were excluded from the eagerly-anticipated event. To attend the Prom on June 30 pupils had to meet a set of standards throughout the year including good attendance, punctuality, and positive attitudes to learning.
Parents of the children not invited were stunned with many already paying lots of money for outfits. The average number of students at the high school is around 200.
