Public Enemy have cancelled their Newcastle show.
They were supposed to perform on October 11 at Newcastle Entertainment Centre as part of their On The Grid 35th Anniversary Tour of Australia.
Their shows in Adelaide and Perth have also been cancelled but (at this stage, anyway) shows at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion on October 9, Eatons Hill on October 12 and Melbourne's John Cain Arena on October 5 are still going ahead.
The Ticketek website had this to say: "TEG Live regretfully advise that the Public Enemy shows in Perth, Adelaide & Newcastle have been cancelled due to unforeseen scheduling issues.
"All purchased tickets will receive a full refund. Tickets will be automatically refunded in full (including refundable ticket purchase, if relevant) to the original payment method used for purchase and patrons do not need to take any action.
"Please check your email for more information."
The news will no doubt rub salt into the still-raw wounds of Tenacious D fans still reeling from the time, on July 16, when Jack Black cancelled their Australian tour just hours before they were meant to be on stage in Newcastle. Their reason? A joke made by a band member about former US president Donald Trump.
Unforeseen scheduling issues. Novocastrians have heard that one before.
