Scarlett Johansson was left with a hole in her face after trying to "get rid of a pimple".
The 39-year-old star has opened up on one of his "biggest beauty regrets" after using a cortisone injection despite being warned against it by a makeup artist.
She told E! News: "Never get a cortisone shot to get rid of a pimple. I was warned by a make-up artist about this years ago.
"She told me about an actress who had a big scene coming up but had a pimple she needed to get rid of. So, she went to the dermatologist to get a cortisone shot to get rid of it and it left a huge crater (which looked much worse).
"Stupidly, I didn't follow this advice and a year later got it done myself – and I can confirm it does leave a hole!
"So, avoid it if you can. I’ve managed to massage it away over time but it’s probably one of my biggest beauty regrets."
The 'Under The Skin' actress has opened up about her own skincare routine, which she had developed through her own beauty brand 'The Outset'.
Sharing some advice for her fans, she said: "Develop a routine you can stick to. I think I've got mine down now, and the key is to keep it streamlined —that’s why The Outset routines are always straightforward and efficient.
"You don’t need a 16-step routine to get great results."
She used that mentality for her company's Prep Serum, which combines four products into one.
She added: "I hear from so many people that they get hooked by our Prep Serum.
"It’s a multitasker that takes the place of four products and I think we can all appreciate a product that simplifies your routine.
"Personally, my skin doesn’t feel the same without it!"
