Scarlets v Cheetahs team news as Welsh side install new captain for South African Euro test

Scarlets Cheetahs Wales Dwayne Peel Josh Macleod Sione Kalamafoni Aaron Shingler Javan Sebastian Leigh Halfpenny Ryan Elias

Wales openside Josh Macleod has been handed the Scarlets captaincy for the Welsh team's Challenge Cup clash with the Cheetahs in Parma.

Macleod, who made his Wales debut against Georgia this autumn, will lead the side in the absence of experienced centre Jonathan Davies who has been rested.

The 26-year-old has overcome his fair share of adversity over the past couple of years, having recovered from a ruptured achilles in February 2021, and is one of the most respected players in the Scarlets squad.
