Scarlets' lead analyst Joe Lewis has returned to England's coaching staff after just one season in Llanelli.
Lewis was heralded as a significant coup ahead of Dwayne Peel's first season in charge down west, having been an integral part of Eddie Jones' coaching set up with the English national side, helping them claim Six Nations titles and reach the 2019 World Cup final.
But Peel's first year in charge at the Scarlets, which was derailed by the nightmare trip to South Africa in December, has been tough. The region finished 10th in the inaugural URC season and missed out on Champions Cup rugby next season to the Ospreys on the final weekend.
Lewis was previously head analyst with the RFU but returns to the organisation as a 'Training Co-ordinator', where he will 'lead analysis work on special projects'.
Scarlets General Manager of Rugby Jon Daniels said: “This is a great opportunity for Joe leading up to the Rugby World Cup next year. We’d like to thank him for his efforts last season and wish him all the best in his new role.”
There is no news on a replacement for Lewis, whose official title at Parc y Scarlets was Head of Technical Performance.
