Scandi-style Edinburgh apartment named one of UK's best Airbnbs for Christmas stay by Conde Nast

With the schools already having gone back and the temperatures starting to dip a little, it won't be long before we hear the Christmas music in the supermarkets.

Don't shout it, but winter is coming. And that's no bad thing if you're a fan of all things festive, especially in a city that is renowned the world over for spreading some Christmas joy.

With the Christmas markets and the cosy bars serving up warming mulled wine, plenty of people from across the UK and beyond flock to the capital as the advent calendars go up to fully embrace 'the most wonderful time of the year'.

That means it's a busy time for hotels and accommodation in the capital too.

And a luxury travel mag has just named a 'Scandi-style' Edinburgh airbnb as one of the UK's best when Santa gets set to come to town.

Joining the likes of Cotswolds cottages and Perthshire Castles on the Conde Nast list is a 'modern apartment', which boasts 'all the classic hallmarks of a chic Edinburgh Airbnb'.

Writers said about the accommodation, which is based in Bruntsfield; "All the classic hallmarks of a chic Edinburgh Airbnb – the shuttered sash windows, open fireplaces and wood flooring – have been given a Scandi-style costume change by host Claire.

"Two white-on-white bedrooms (one with bunk beds for kids or kids-at-heart) have bags of space for stashing presents, and the sofa in the living room turns into a bed for last-minute sleepovers or to make more space for the whole crew.

"The kitchen is small but prettily formed, and six can jostle around the breakfast table for a lunch whipped up with ingredients from the nearby farmers’ market.

"Traipse along the canal to the city centre to explore the Christmas markets or seek refuge from the inevitable Scottish drizzle in one of the city’s many brilliant boozers."

The price listed for the accommodation, which sleeps six people, is listed as £145 per night with a four night-minimum stay.

It's certainly one worth considering if you have friends coming to the capital for Christmas or if you just fancy a festive city centre staycation!
