Scaffolders top occupations least likely to have had Covid vaccination

One in five people in England aged 18 to 64 who work as scaffolders, stagers and riggers hadn’t had any of their vaccinations by the end of February according to the Office for National Statistics. That made them the occupation with the highest unvaccinated rates.

Other parts of the construction industry also had a high proportion of people who hadn’t had their jabs. Similarly, 19.7% of people working in jobs such as builder’s labourers or plumber’s assistants were unvaccinated, as were 18.8% of roofers, 17.2% of plasterers, and 17.1% of groundworkers.

Those who work in complementary health - such as aromatherapists, massage therapists and reflexologists - are also more likely to be unjabbed, with 20.2% having had none of the vaccinations. One in six people (16.7%) who work in jobs such as beautician, make-up artist or manicurist also haven’t had their Covid vaccinations.
