South Carolina State University (SCSU), a historically Black institution in Orangeburg, was shaken on the night of 4 October 2025, when two separate shootings erupted during its Homecoming festivities.

According to reports, one person was killed, another wounded, and the campus went into lockdown. Below is what's known so far and what remains under investigation.
