American radio and television talk show host, Andy Cohen went on an epic rant live on CNN on New Year’s Eve against the outgoing mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio.
Shortly after the clock struck midnight in Times Square, which marked the last time that de Blasio would rin in the new year as NYC mayor, Cohen decided to let his thoughts on de Blasio known to the world despite protests from CNN anchor Anderson Cooper.
“Let me tell you something,” an animated Cohen started by saying.
“Watching Mayor De Blasio do his ‘victory lap’ dance after four years of the crappiest job as the mayor of New York! The only thing that the Democrats and the Republicans can agree on is what a horrible mayor he has been, so sayonara sucka!

“2022! It’s a new year. ‘Cause guess what? I have a feeling I’m going to be standing right here next year, and you know what I’m not going to be looking at, dancing as the city comes apart? You!”

“Is that how you want to start the new year?” Cooper could be heard saying while trying to interject and even tried to restrain him at one point but all in a jokey manner.
De Blasio, despite serving eight years as mayor oversaw plummeting approval ratings, an increase in crime and one of the worst Covid outbreaks in the United States during his tenure.
Cohen has since tweeted that he was “a bit overserved last night.”
🌧 good morning! 🌧. Um, I was a bit overserved last night…. 🥴

Cohen’s remarks about de Blasio comes as Eric Adams was sworn in as the 110th mayor of New York. Adams, a Democrat, is a retired police officer and former Brooklyn borough president and won by 67 per cent of the vote in November.
