Millions around the world will be ringing in the New Year in massive celebrations - many for the first time since 2019.
The first place in the world that will see 2023 will be the small Pacific island nations of Tonga, Samoa and Kiribati/Christmas Island at 10am local time.

In London, large crowds are expected to travel to the capital to see the fireworks and enjoy celebrations without restrictions.
However, the Met Office has warned of an “unsettled” New Year weekend for much of the UK.
It has been a grim year with the continuing war in Ukraine, global warming issues and increased cost of living, but despite Covidebing on the rise again, the UK is at last able to enjoy New Year parties without the tight restrictions of before.
For at least today, millions are looking forward to finishing 2022 on a positive note of the human spirit as we live in hope 2023 brings more joy.
