Saving Lives in Leeds: New BBC documentary to follow Leeds NHS doctors and surgeons and show the daily dilemmas they face

Top doctors and surgeons at Leeds' biggest NHS hospitals will go under the camera in a new BBC documentary.

'Saving Lives in Leeds' will follow those who make critical decisions and perform lifesaving operations for Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs Leeds General Infirmary and St James's Hospital.

The eight hour-long episodes, filmed last year, will document how world-leading doctors are battling ever-growing waiting lists and deciding who will be treated next. The emotional stories of patients as they undergo life-changing operations – including brain tumour removal and heart surgery on babies – will also feature.
