The Kansas City Chiefs’ influence continues to rub off on the sports world as the Super Bowl LVII champions start preparations for the new season. The latest entry in this category comes from the baseball world as an exhibition baseball team honored the reigning champs.
The Savannah Bananas are known as a fun-filled baseball circus in Savannah, Georgia. They were established in 2016 to entertain fans using the game of baseball with their own unique flair. They’re currently visiting Kansas City for a series against the Kansas City Monarchs.
In their first game of the series, the Savannah Bananas utilized one of the Chiefs’ formations from the 2022 NFL season as part of their act. They borrowed the ‘Snow Globe’ play that the team used against the Las Vegas Raiders last season.
Former Kansas City Royals pitcher Jeremy Guthrie helped orchestrate the play, comically sporting a Chiefs helmet while pitching out a perfect strike. Check it out:

The original play made headlines for the Chiefs during their Week 17 victory over the Raiders. The play consisted of Jerick McKinnon lining up at quarterback rolling right, and tossing the ball to Patrick Mahomes, who lined up as the running back. He swung the ball back left on a screen to receiver Kadarius Toney. The play would’ve been a touchdown but was negated due to a holding penalty.
It’s safe to say that the Bananas executed the play a bit better than the Chiefs did.
