An Italian restaurant boss hit back after a diner took to TripAdvisor and claimed their meal was 'toxic with garlic'. The customer took to the website after visiting Delgado's in Penketh, Warrington, claiming it had been the 'worst meal [they] have ever had', Cheshire Live reported.
"Starter was poor value for money and tasteless... very disappointing. Both main meals were toxic with garlic. I have never felt so assaulted by garlic in my life.
"The pasta dish was more of a garlic soup with barely any chicken in it. It was inedible I was embarrassed and disappointed I suggested coming here based on previous good reviews.

They added: "We had some pizza garlic bread again inedible chewy strange tasting dough something was off. I was just speechless. Wouldn't recommend anyone risk eating here."
Andrew, the owner of Delgado's challenged the diner head on. He said: "Hi, you had ordered the Toscana which says on the menu 'chicken and sautéed garlic mushrooms in a garlic sauce served with tagliatelle' as well as a garlic bread pizza.
"So you ordered garlic in garlic with garlic yet complained its too garlicky! The picture you posted also shows the dish half eaten with hardly and pasta left making it look more saucy. Not one other person mentioned an issue with the pizza dough and it was all made in the same batch. The waiters did two checkbacks with you to ask if everything was okay and you didn't say you wasn't happy.
"If you had mentioned it at the time we would have made you another dish of your choice but you kept quiet and ran straight to trip advisor." He added: "I felt embarrassed for YOU reading your review."
A total of 355 reviews have been left for the restaurant on TripAdvisor, with 276 users giving full marks, describing the restaurant as 'excellent'. Delgado's won a Tripadvisor Traveller's Choice award last year.
