Consumers can expect to see more of sausage maker Heck on their TV screens over the next few years as the firm says it is spending heavily on advertising.
The North Yorkshire supplier to most major supermarkets and M&S reported a modest uplift in turnover in the year to the end of July 2021 while gross margin increased to 29.5% thanks to efficiencies from automated sausage making equipment.
In accounts filed at Companies House, Heck - which employs 130 people - recorded a 6.5% rise in turnover to £27.7m, but a 47.7% decrease in operating profit from £518,030 to £270,863 owing to marketing investments.
